Lavaretus provides insurance and risk engineering products for the shipping and energy sectors. We are specialists within floating power and desalination, ship building, logistics industry and the hull sector. Our policyholders include owners, financiers, operators and design and build contractors and we deal with these companies either directly or through an extensive global network of broking intermediaries. 

We were established early in 2010, initially providing a more complete insurance solution for floating power and desalination operators. Our policy was the first to cover marine and non-marine risks for the construction and operational phases under one composite policy and with the benefit of one underwriting point of contact. 

We have since extended our insurance product range, in each case moving into areas where we have substantial knowledge and experience of the sector and are able to add value in terms of the insurance cover, claims handling and risk engineering. 

The underwriting capital for all of our products is provided by Lloyd's and the largest European insurance companies, providing our clients with a high quality of financial security and enabling us to offer extensive capacity for the risks that we underwrite. 

Lavaretus Underwriting AB is regulated by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority Finansinspektionen (SFSA). Whilst our registered office is in Sweden our main Underwriting and Claims centre is in Helsinki, Finland.
